The world has undergone major changes since the industrial revolution. In the past 50 years, we have contaminated destroyed and increased more than in the entire history of mankind. This growth, the balanced development without a goal, has resulted in a loss of awareness of the effects of the actions we take.
In recent days, starting the month of September, the UN warned the world's population over the accelerated melting of Antarctica, posing a threat to the disappearance of 25% of land area under water, losing cities and natural areas. It is accepted that the main cause of accelerated global warming is human.
So Are we living in a world doomed to destruction? No, at least to within 4 or 5 years, which is the point of no return that we have.
Today we can not deny that what we do in Mexico, will have an impact on the Netherlands, India and Russia. Provoke changes in the biosphere that affect everyone equally.
In Mexico we have a clear example of how we are altering the climate, depleting the natural resilience of habitat and eliminating the chances of social and economic development, particularly in a region.
And I mean the Yucatan Peninsula. The three states that make up this (Campeche, Quintana Roo and Yucatan) have hundreds of sites that are considered a haven, and today, are in danger.
For example, Merida has no sewer system, everything everything is kept in septic tanks, which poses a risk to health and the environment ambiente.Quintana Roo and its natural wonders, have been major damage from the huge tourist development that has taken over the past 30 years, in the next 6 years is estimated that its population will quadruple, and worst of all is that no infrastructure to treat sewage, garbage and social problems that entails a population growth of these dimensions.
The coral Arrecife, cenotes, and Arrecife of coral, mangroves have been destroyed by the growth of economic activity, economic development is necessary, but ... what the cost of ending mangroves, if water filters for Arrecife, and the source of life for wildlife and protect land from storms?
All this is discussed and it is resolved in the forums that have been recently developed in the Yucatan peninsula, proposing legal reforms, development proposals, sustainability, a way to avoid destroying ourselves.
On the next page you can check a film showing the damage it is causing on the peninsula, and the risk we run if we continue with this predation.
Please check it out and spread it, we need everyone.
